You seem to place “science” and traditional knowledge as opposed to one another. Any traditional belief that is based on the way that things really work is not at all incompatible with science. There maybe some scientific truths hidden in the beliefs but it is fairly improbable.

Certainly any engineer would see terracing, using indigenous plants and building houses on stilts as good solutions to problems of heavy rains and potential flooding.

On the other hand kicking cows a predictors of rain is probably in the same category as extra wooly caterpillars as predictors of a harsh winter. This may or may not have a scientific basis.

There is alot of reforms to be done on kenya’s policies and laws to prevent the few in power from exploiting the majority of the hard working Kenyans.
For instance,well connected traders import farm inputs and then hold them in ware houses to create an artificial shortage to later sell at exangerated prices.
SOLUTION: the trading licences should be given to many for competition to take place so as to sell on time and at reasonable prices.
